Santa Clause CAME to town!!

Madelyn went to visit Santa on Saturday!! To our surprise the lines were really short and we didn't have to wait long.

Here's us waiting in anticipation.

Madelyn sat on Santa's lap and put on a show for all the passing shoppers!

When she was finished she thought, "What's the big deal, Dad??"

Happy Thanksgiving

Today was Madelyn's first Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for...family being on the top of the list. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and taking some time to reflect on how much we all have.

(This is Madelyn's first time in a high chair. She sat the entire meal with us.)

Just an update!!

Recently life has been changing at a very rapid pace. Madelyn is growing at record speeds!! She is in the 95-98% for her growth and is only 4 1/2 months old, but wearing 6-9 month clothes. If she keeps this up, she will be bigger than her parents by age 2. :)

Her newest developments include rolling over and the beginning stages of sitting up. Bath time has become more challenging because Madelyn insists she can sit up on her own, and when I try to make her lay back she kicks until there is almost no water left. I am trying to teach her the word "NO," but it only causes more giggling and kicking...making a wet situation, even wetter!!

Here are some pictures of Madelyn's new tricks!!

This is the beginning of a roll!!

"I have already rolled a couple of times, MOM."

"You want to see me do it again???"

"I can sit up too, watch!"

"See, I told you I could, but we better leave this pillow here for now!"

My little Turtle!!

Madelyn was a turtle for Halloween, isn't she the cutest turtle you have ever seen?!??

Busy times!

We have been extremely busy, these past few weeks. As most of you know, we were in Texas about two weeks in October. We were not back for long, and Julia, Jason, and Eli came to visit us. We have a slide show below to recap the weekend.

Happy Birthday, Great-Grandpop!!

We all went to Delaware again this weekend for Madelyn's Great-Grandpop's birthday. It was cloudy and rainy, so we were not able to go to the beach, but we still had a great time!

Madelyn loves being admired by Great-Grandpop and Great-Grandmom.

Aunt Janice took her for a stroll around the neighborhood, and she had to look her best!

Madelyn really enjoyed our family dinner...she was a perfect angel!

Happy Birthday to you, Dad, Grandpop and Great-Grandpop!

After dinner, Madelyn wanted to catch up on some college football.

Drew finally decided to hold her!!

Aunt Janice didn't want to put her down. (And Madelyn loved it!!)

Molly enjoyed the trip, too!

Madelyn just couldn't resist the eggs...they were delicious!!

Wedding Dresses Already??!!??

Sorry it's been a while since the last post. Today we went to visit my old co-workers, and friends, at the Bridal shop. They looooove babies!!!

Carol discusses future prom dress with Madelyn.

Rosemary gets down to business and helps her start picking out the ones she likes.

Madelyn has also gotten very vocal and verrrry strong. She can now pull herself up and stand for a while...She is growing soooo fast!! (Molly can't wait for her to play!)

Family Update

Sorry it's been so long since the last post. I thought I would just give an update...Last night was my first night back to work. I am just working part-time, two nights a week, and Scott was home with Madelyn. I think it was pretty rough for a while, but he seems to be doing great!!
This past weekend Madelyn and I attended Pat and Rae's engagement party (Scott had other obligations, he had a football draft for his fantasy Team...Including picking Pat's team.) No one even knew we had a baby at the party...She was an angel. Although, she fought falling asleep because she didn't want to miss a minute.
Pat and Rae (Pat is Bill's son.)

Grammy and Madelyn all dressed up at the party.

Now don't let this picture fool you. She looks sooooo sweet, but actually she was just gearing up for a real loud scream.

August 22, 2006

Madelyn had a very eventful day. It started with Dad having a disaster on the changing table. It seems Madelyn pooped EVERYWHERE!!
Then she got upset when the zebra (to the left) wouldn't talk back to her.

Next we went to visit Mary...Everyone was in lavender.

Great-Great Grandma was very glad to see her.

As were her Great-Great Aunts! (Madelyn was pretty excited to see them too.)

We had a great day!!

"Mom I want to type!"

A Relaxing Day at the Auction

Madelyn attended an auction for the first time yesterday. She thought she needed everything!!

Decisions, decisions??? What to buy???

Should I bid???

You bet! I want it at that price...$1!!! I love these dollar auctions!!

Yippy...it's going home with me!!

First Day (AT) School

Madelyn went with Grammy to school for the first time today. Just to prove she was there, we took some pictures...Madelyn is the same size as the globe!!!

You wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between her and a 6th grader...she decided to play with her underpants (with the help of Mom and Grammy!)

Maddie and Daddy

Madelyn is learning early to watch sports and track her favorite players on the computer.

First out of State Trip

This past weekend we took a trip to visit Grandpop, Elaine, Aunt Janice, Uncle Bob, and Drew. This was Madelyn's first real trip and she was a champ!! She loved all the new faces, places, and ocean air.

This is four generations of Allen's!!

Madelyn at Grammy's House

Yesterday we went to Grammy's house after a three day absence, and of course, there were LOTS of pictures!! Madelyn has been growing at a record speed, at least it seems that way to Scott and I. She now weighs a whopping 11lb. 13 oz.! Recently, she has been smiling and making noises when you talk to her. It seems she has a lot to say...I think once she starts talking our house will miss the quite! She also turned her head to look at her dad when he was talking to her. We know she is listening and paying attention to her parents, but for how long, we are unsure.

Well, I will try to keep everyone up to date on all that is happening is our small little world, at least for the moment. I will try to post some of the pictures we took this past weekend in Delaware later today.
