First Time at the Boardwalk

We went to the boardwalk in Delaware. We look it slow for Madelyn, considering her reaction just to sand!

We started out on the carousel, with her sitting on our laps. She liked the first ride, so we could move on to bigger and better ones!

Every time we walked past the carousel, she would point and make a big deal. We decided to end with one more ride...she was mad when it did not start right away!

But once it did...she loved it!! "See!" (That's Madelyn lingo.)

First Party

We had a birthday party for Eli and Madelyn in Delaware. They didn't know what to think of the cake at first.

They found out quick what to do with it!!

Madelyn held on for dear life...she didn't want anyone taking the cake away!

"What happened to the cake??? I want more!"

Our little ham!

After running the plate all over her head, she decided to finish licking it clean.

After we cleaned them up, they opened their gift.

Of course the books were a hit with Madelyn.

First Time at the Beach

Well, she had to be stylish for her first time at the beach.

Madelyn did not particularly enjoy the sand or the water. She did not want to be put down!

This was the best part of the beach for her!

Finally There!

We could hardly wait to get to Delaware!! The first day we just took it easy and played around the house.

Grammy and Aunt Janice could not wait to give Eli and Madelyn their birthday gifts!

Madelyn LOVED her new outfits!! She's going to be a shopper.

First Birthday!

Madelyn started her day with a trip to the park.

We met our mom's group and Madelyn especially like the bubbles!
(Check out the "I can hardly believe what is happening" face.)

Later that day we went to Grammy's house to see Aunt Julia, Uncle Jason, and Eli.

Grammy found her old Chatty Cathy doll. Madelyn was pretty perplexed by the moving eyes!

Her and Eli had a grand time digging through Eil's bag!

First Long Road Trip

Madelyn and Mommy met Grandma and Pawpaw in Baltimore last Friday and drove to Greensboro, NC to visit Uncle Allen. Madelyn travels very well!! We visited the camp where Allen is working...it's pretty spectacular!

The camp is for kids with disabilities and is run by Richard Petty and his son, both race car drivers, and the entire camp is centered around Nascar.

Here Madelyn is taking one out for a quick spin. (Uncle Allen was part of the pit crew.)

Madelyn decided to check out the engine afterwards...here she's checking the oil..."Looks Good!"

First "Big" Scar

Madelyn fell into the glass in our french doors and cut her head...bad!! Blood was everywhere and Mom was freaking out!!! All in all, she is fine and got five stitches. She's a champ.

Busy Day!

We spent the day in Groves, TX. Madelyn had so many things to see and do.

She went outside to play in the yard with Great-Grandpa.

Great-Memaw had to stay on her toes, too!!

Aunt Tracye, Uncle Brian, and Alex came over to see us...well, really just Madelyn :)

(Madelyn had a lot of fun playing with Alex...we ran out of camera battery)

She was finally the "big" girl around Adison (nearly double her size!!)

A Day at Grandma and Pawpaw's

Madelyn has more fun at Grandma and Pawpaw's...she doesn't have to wear clothes if she doesn't want to!!

Madelyn had fun playing with her new friend, Aubrey. (Sorry, if we miss spelled your name...)

She learned a new game, "ring-around-the-rosie."

After they left, Madelyn was exhausted...I had to wake her up from her nap!

Later we went to vist Abbey, Blake, and Emily

Looking Outside

Madelyn has found the windows!! She loves looking outside and the dining room windows are the perfect height. The funny thing, is that when the neighbors dog comes out and starts barking, she hits the floor and crawls at warp speed away from the window!! It is quite humorous!!!

These pictures will give you an idea of how tall she is...

She has also learned to "kiss." This is her "kissing" Elmo.

New Tastes

Madelyn is learning to eat new foods (and textures!)

She really doesn't like eggs!!

However, she really likes green beans.
