Funny Moments

I thought I would just share some of the funny stories about Madelyn that have happened lately.

Well, Madelyn's most recent obsession has been going for walks and accumulating sticks. She loves to bring the sticks home and it is a struggle to get her to leave them outside. Her other love is a Winnie the Pooh video...which she calls "POOH," over and over. The other day she was on her "STICK" kick, but it was really cold outside and Scott and I did not want to go for a walk. So, to compromise with Madelyn, Scott suggested she watch Pooh. Then, to our surprise, Madelyn looked at Scott, stopped saying "STICK, STICK," shrugged her shoulders and said, "I guess." How old is she again??

Madelyn never ceases to amaze me. I have been trying to teach her how to say the alphabet. She sits on my lap and repeats after me, but she doesn't REALLY know her alphabet. A few days ago I had put her in her room for a nap. (She normally plays for a while then goes to sleep.) I went downstairs to clean the kitchen and few minutes later I heard her talking, so I went up the stairs to listen. To my amazement, she was saying her version of the alphabet...A,D, S,T... It was all out of order, but she was trying!! I could only imagine, because the door was shut, that she had her doll on her lap "teaching" her the alphabet. I had to smile and felt proud of my "big girl!"

Snow Day

Ok, well I have gotten a lot of heat about not blogging in so long....SORRY!!! Things have been happening at a pretty fast pace in our house, these days. If you don't already know, we are having another little girl...due May 5th. We have decided on the name Claire Maire and already have many things with her name on them. I have been really bad about taking pictures of Madelyn, so I have posted something that her Grammy took a few weeks ago. They are really cute and show her talking...since then her vocabulary has increased significantly.

Click the link, then the pictures to play the videos.

The newest phrases to come out of our "little angel" are ..."Why?" (She's only 20 months and already asking!!), "Alright." (Madelyn do you want to ...? Alright!) and if there is something she doesn't want to do, "No way!" She is growing up so fast!!!

Well, I will try to start posting more often. Although, I can only guess it will get more difficult with two little "rug rats." I did so well with Madelyn at first, that I will have to keep with Claire!

Halloween 2007

Madelyn was a puppy for Halloween, and I must say, the cutest one I have ever seen! She took the whole thing very seriously! Here are some of the highlights of our night!

Daddy helping her get ready.

Practicing her "bark!"

On our way!

We started our fun at the F&M College Campus.
Madelyn walked the whole length of the track!!

She was attracted to anything pink!

It was so cute when she walked, her tail wagged behind her!

We ended with a trip to our neighborhood retirement home. Madelyn got lots of granola bars, which she organized into catagories the minute we got home!

The residents loved her, and she was such a trooper.
(Staying in character the whole time, of course.)

We got home just in time to hand out some candy of our own!

Day at Grammy's

We haven't been keeping up with our blog, so I have to go back a few weeks. Julia and Eli came to visit and we all went to Grammy's house to play.

Madelyn wanted to hold Eli's hand, but he didn't know what the big deal was.

ChuckE. Cheese

While Scott and I went out to Cirque Du Soleil for our fourth anniversary, Madelyn went to ChuckE. Cheese with Grandma and Pawpaw. She loved playing and riding all the rides!

Pool Time

The first day we arrived we just spent the day at the pool. Madelyn is really getting used to the water.

She especially liked the fountains.

Disney Village

April and Jaedyn came to visit us at our hotel on Monday. Madelyn made a new best friend!!

There was a lot of love!

After dinner, we went to Disney Villlage. The girls loved all the princesses!

We couldn't pass up the train ride.

Madelyn stayed up way past her bedtime. Pawpaw kept her happy by letting her ride on his shoulders.

Jaedyn and Scott quickly became friends, as well.

First Time at the Boardwalk

We went to the boardwalk in Delaware. We look it slow for Madelyn, considering her reaction just to sand!

We started out on the carousel, with her sitting on our laps. She liked the first ride, so we could move on to bigger and better ones!

Every time we walked past the carousel, she would point and make a big deal. We decided to end with one more ride...she was mad when it did not start right away!

But once it did...she loved it!! "See!" (That's Madelyn lingo.)

First Party

We had a birthday party for Eli and Madelyn in Delaware. They didn't know what to think of the cake at first.

They found out quick what to do with it!!

Madelyn held on for dear life...she didn't want anyone taking the cake away!

"What happened to the cake??? I want more!"

Our little ham!

After running the plate all over her head, she decided to finish licking it clean.

After we cleaned them up, they opened their gift.

Of course the books were a hit with Madelyn.

First Time at the Beach

Well, she had to be stylish for her first time at the beach.

Madelyn did not particularly enjoy the sand or the water. She did not want to be put down!

This was the best part of the beach for her!

Finally There!

We could hardly wait to get to Delaware!! The first day we just took it easy and played around the house.

Grammy and Aunt Janice could not wait to give Eli and Madelyn their birthday gifts!

Madelyn LOVED her new outfits!! She's going to be a shopper.
